Introduction
These Terms and Conditions govern your use of Deep Mind's website and educational services. By accessing our website or enrolling in our programs, you agree to be bound by these terms. Please read them carefully before using our services.
If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you may not access our website or participate in our programs. We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time, and your continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of any changes.
1. Definitions
- "Service" refers to the machine learning engineering courses and educational programs provided by Deep Mind
- "User" or "You" means any person accessing our website or enrolling in our programs
- "Content" includes all text, images, code, videos, and materials provided through our services
- "We/Us/Our" refers to Deep Mind and its instructors and staff
- "Platform" means the learning management system and associated tools used to deliver educational content
2. Eligibility and Account Registration
Age Requirement
You must be at least 18 years old to enroll in our programs. By registering, you confirm that you meet this age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into binding contracts.
Account Responsibilities
When you create an account, you agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information
- Maintain the security of your password and account credentials
- Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access or security breach
3. Enrollment and Payment
Enrollment Process
Enrollment in our programs requires submission of a completed application and payment of applicable fees. We reserve the right to accept or reject applications at our discretion based on program capacity and prerequisite requirements.
Payment Terms
- All fees are listed in euros (EUR) and must be paid in full before program access is granted
- Payment can be made via bank transfer or accepted credit cards
- Prices are subject to change for future cohorts but remain fixed once enrollment is confirmed
- Finnish VAT applies where legally required
Refund Policy
We offer a two-week evaluation period from the program start date. If you withdraw within this period, you will receive a full refund minus a €100 EUR administrative processing fee.
After the two-week evaluation period, refunds are considered only in exceptional circumstances such as serious medical emergencies or significant life events, evaluated on a case-by-case basis. We encourage prospective participants to review program details thoroughly before enrolling.
4. Use of Services
Acceptable Use
Our services are provided for educational purposes. You agree to use them responsibly and professionally. You may:
- Access course materials for personal learning and professional development
- Participate in collaborative exercises and peer discussions
- Use code and examples from courses in your own projects with attribution
Prohibited Activities
You may not:
- Share your account credentials or course access with others
- Reproduce, distribute, or sell course materials without written permission
- Upload malicious code or content that could harm our systems or other users
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our platform or other users' accounts
- Engage in harassment, discrimination, or abusive behavior toward instructors or peers
- Use automated tools to scrape or download bulk course content
5. Intellectual Property Rights
Our Content
All course materials, including but not limited to lectures, videos, code examples, assignments, and documentation, are the intellectual property of Deep Mind or our licensed content providers. These materials are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
Limited License
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use course materials solely for your personal educational purposes during your enrollment period and any specified post-program access period.
Your Content
You retain ownership of project work, code, and other content you create during programs. By submitting work through our platform, you grant us a license to use it for educational purposes, including as examples for future cohorts (with your identity removed) and for program improvement.
6. Academic Integrity
We expect all participants to maintain high standards of academic integrity. This includes:
- Completing assignments and projects independently unless collaboration is explicitly permitted
- Properly attributing external sources, libraries, and code references
- Not submitting work completed by others as your own
- Not using unauthorized assistance during assessments
Violations of academic integrity may result in assignment failure, program dismissal, and forfeiture of fees without refund.
7. Disclaimers and Limitations
Service Availability
While we strive to maintain continuous platform availability, we do not guarantee uninterrupted access to our services. We may perform maintenance, updates, or modifications that temporarily affect availability. We will provide advance notice when possible.
Educational Outcomes
We provide quality educational content and instruction, but we make no guarantees regarding specific learning outcomes, employment prospects, or salary increases. Individual results depend on many factors including prior experience, effort invested, and market conditions.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Finnish law, our total liability for any claims related to our services is limited to the amount of fees you paid for the relevant program. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages.
8. Termination
By You
You may withdraw from a program at any time by providing written notice. Refund eligibility is determined by the timing of your withdrawal as described in Section 3.
By Us
We reserve the right to terminate your access to our services immediately if you:
- Violate these Terms and Conditions
- Engage in prohibited activities or academic dishonesty
- Fail to make required payments
- Engage in behavior that disrupts the learning environment
Termination for cause results in loss of access without refund of fees paid.
9. Dispute Resolution
Informal Resolution
If you have a dispute with Deep Mind, we encourage you to first contact us directly at legal@domain.com to seek an informal resolution. Many concerns can be addressed through direct communication.
Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Finland. Any disputes that cannot be resolved informally will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Helsinki, Finland.
Mediation
Before initiating formal legal proceedings, both parties agree to attempt mediation through a mutually agreed upon mediator in Helsinki. Each party bears their own mediation costs.
10. Modifications to Terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions periodically to reflect changes in our services, legal requirements, or business practices. We will notify you of material changes by:
- Posting the updated terms on our website with a revised "Last Updated" date
- Sending email notification to enrolled participants at least 30 days before changes take effect
Your continued use of our services after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. If you disagree with changes, you may withdraw from active programs according to our refund policy.
11. General Provisions
Entire Agreement
These Terms and Conditions, together with our Privacy Policy and any enrollment agreements, constitute the entire agreement between you and Deep Mind regarding use of our services.
Severability
If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
No Waiver
Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these terms does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
Assignment
You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these terms without our written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations to any successor entity in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
